Who knows what the future holds,hopefully its bright

To breed dogs to the standard ,free of any health issues is certainly a challenge !

DNA testing has helped tremendously ,pin pointing dogs that are affected with hereditary defects is a must and results should be published for all to see ,

as disappointing as it may be .

Having said that I for one will not be will not throwing the baby out with the bath water, in my mind in the case of an outstanding dog or bitch that tests as a carrier the solution would be to put them to a clear dog and test any progeny ,

 Researching pedigrees is a must, and honesty about any issues that crop up in breedings ,[genetics has a habit of giving you a good kick when you least expect it]

Also in not breeding from any bitches until they are over 3 years of age will help in eliminate any health issues that may not able to be detected by DNA tests,

As if this wasn't enough to be going on with natural bob tails are now to be considered, Just when you think you're getting somewhere !

So there it is , hopefully this will result in happy, healthy ,good looking aussies and collies fit for any task but first and foremost,great pets and companions for many years
